In light of the recent changes that many of us have had to make, we have introduced a trial Pay It Forward initiative for our LCBC Community Pantry which will show the kindness in our fantastic community.
How does this work?
Members of the community can donate £3 for a post-it note to be added to our notice board. This can be either in person at the pantry, or via this page.
A note will be created with your name and message if you wish to include one. Please add this message in the box below. If you prefer to stay anonymous, please state this too.
If you wish to take up an offer, just ask one of our staff or volunteers whilst there. The notes can be used alone for food, non-foods or flowers or as ‘part payment’. As only one person/social bubble is allowed in our pantry where contributions are taken, no one else will be privy to this and we will retain that confidentiality.
We will not ask for any evidence of your financial circumstances. There is no criteria; we truly understand that anyone can fall on hard times and that frequently, it is difficult to make ends meet. We also want users to feel valued by taking advantage of a post it note, and appreciate that there is kindness in this world.
We only ask that you repay this kindness somehow, be that a pay it forward note for someone else, checking on a neighbour, sharing food, or doing another good deed. Your good deed may not seem much, but if everyone did something good for someone else, then the cycle of generosity and kindness can spark us to become better people.
